What πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ is made of

This symbol is glued together from several: an invisible joiner sits between them. Software that does not know about the joiner shows the parts separately.

  1. 🚴 person biking U+1F6B4
  2. invisible joiner U+200D
  3. β™‚ male sign U+2642
  4. ️ «draw as a picture» marker U+FE0F

Hence the familiar surprise: you send one picture and the other side gets several in a row, and deleting removes the symbol piece by piece. That is not a fault but how the standard itself works.

Will your readers see πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

The symbol predates 2018, so every system in use today draws it. Safe for an email, a heading or a signature.

Where the πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ emoji is used

The πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ smiley copies in one tap and pastes into a chat as text, not as a picture: it is a Unicode symbol, so it works the same in WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and in a post caption. Every platform draws emoji its own way β€” below you can see how man biking is drawn in the open Noto, OpenMoji and Twemoji sets.
