What the 🔔 emoji means
A golden handbell. Notifications — the interface meaning has almost swallowed the object.
Video and social platforms trained everyone on «hit the bell», so today it says «subscribe» louder than it says «bell». The crossed-out 🔕 is silence.

Where the 🔔 emoji is used
The 🔔 smiley copies in one tap and pastes into a chat as text, not as a picture: it is a Unicode symbol, so it works the same in WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and in a post caption. Every platform draws emoji its own way — below you can see how bell is drawn in the open Noto, OpenMoji and Twemoji sets.
