What the ๐ emoji means
Thumb and index finger forming a ring. Agreement, approval, ยซthat worksยป โ and, in Brazil and parts of the Mediterranean, an old vulgar insult.
Since 2019 it also carries a hijacked reading as a hate symbol, spread from an internet hoax. Most chats never mean it that way, but the association exists and is worth knowing.
